FAQ

F.A.Q.

Why should I choose Garage Perfect?

At Garage Perfect, we pay attention to details that other “garage experts” don’t. We perform thorough testing and provide you with detailed moisture checks even before we provide you with an estimate. This eliminates hidden costs and ensures that we have the ability to apply an aesthetically pleasing and durable finish.

How do you prepare the floor? Is acid involved?

At Garage Perfect, we are environmentally conscious and we avoid using harsh chemicals. Typically, we use a state of the art diamond finished grinder to grind away the problem areas in your concrete slab. We use state-of-the-art diamond grinding machines to prepare the surface. In the unlikely cases of high moisture content and cracks in the floor we perform additional environmentally friendly steps in preparing your concrete flooring.

Does Garage Perfect offer a warranty on the floor coating system?

We believe in our products and we back them by providing a lifetime warranty. If you are planning to move or sell your home, you can transfer the warranty for your residential product up to and including ten years!

How much does it cost for a polyaspartic polyurethane garage floor coating?

The cost of polyaspartic polyurethane garage floor coating is dependent on the size and condition of your current concrete floor. This is our most affordable option for this type of flooring and although we can be beat in pricing we offer the best value for your money. If you are thinking of selling your home or eventually selling your home your new flooring will add monetary value to your home and the ten-year floor warranty could be appealing to prospective buyers. Financing options are also available if the bulk of the payment seems unrealistic to your budget at this time.

Will fluid from my car damage the floor?

Although oil and transmission fluid are not pavement friendly your Garage Perfect flooring will not be damaged by leaky engines. Your new floor coating is resistant to oil, fuel and other similar fluid.

Is the Garage Perfect floor system slippery?

If you are looking for a slip resistant flooring option Garage Perfect’s floor coating system has a C.O.F. (coefficient of Friction) that has a gradient that is higher than the public standard gradient required for ramps, walkways and restrooms.

What is the difference between Garage Perfect’s polyaspartic floor system compared to Garage Perfect’s epoxy floor systems?

Here are some factors that you should consider when choosing between Polyaspartic Polyurea flooring and Epoxy:

  1. Garage Perfect has an unbeatable warranty on our Polyaspartic Polyurea flooring.
  2. The durability of the Polyaspartic Polyurea floor coating is four times stronger than epoxy.
  3. Unlike epoxy floors, the Garage Perfect polyaspartic polyurea floor coating can be installed in one day in temperatures varying from -20 to 120 degrees Fahrenheit. Due to the materials we can not install epoxy flooring in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit.
  4. Aside from the temperature difference epoxy flooring also takes multiple days to cure to the concrete which could be an inconvenience to patrons and residents alike.

The reason that Polyaspartic polyurea flooring system takes one day to cure is because the substance is absorbed into the floor system whereas epoxy rests on top of the concrete. In short Polyaspartic Flooring is Garage Perfect’s most recommended flooring type because of its durability as well as the installation time.

Can you remove my failing epoxy floor?

By using an industrial grinder with a diamond tip we can grind down most failing floors into usable concrete that we can repair, fill and re-polish. We have to grind down the concrete to a bright white shade for maximum coating adhesion. Call our experienced professionals for more information or for a quote today at (613)288-9315

Can my knee wall or foundation wall also be coated even though it is a vertical surface?

Absolutely! The Garage Perfect polyaspartic polyurea floor coating can be applied to most vertical surfaces. We highly recommend that all concrete surfaces including knee walls are coated otherwise your concrete surfaces may appear uneven, unfinished and unsightly.

Do I have to repair the cracks in my garage flooring before you begin your refinishing process?

The good news is that you have no need touch the cracks! Repairing the cracks in your flooring is apart of our preparation process for the application of new coating. We deal with unsightly concrete cracks by chasing them out with an angle grinder. This makes the sides and bottom of the cracks very porous for maximum adhesion of our proprietary rapid-cure polyurea crack filler. When can I park my car on the new garage floor?

Because of the heavy nature of cars we recommend allowing two days after installation for the floor to fully cure.

How do I clean my new garage floor?

We recommend using eco-friendly options on your new flooring. Spills can be removed with paper towels or a soft sponge with soapy water. A safe option for cleaning is the combination of hot water and a squeegee. For stubborn stains, we suggest using Simple Green or a neutral detergent. Anything non-abrasive.
